Evaluating the Need to Suction
Evaluate Every 2 Hours
The patient must be evaluated every 2 hours for need to suction trach tube. Remember that we suction as needed. So to evaluate whether the patient meets criteria for suctioning see the section on Indications for suctioning and S/Sx of Obstruction.
